How Gentle Lymphatic Work Differs from Deep Massage

Manual lymphatic drainage uses intentionally light, rhythmic contact and should not feel like a deep-tissue session.

Fresh linens and appointment preparation items.

Manual lymphatic drainage uses a light, rhythmic pace that feels distinctly different from deep massage.

Pressure is intentionally light

Deep tissue work often uses slower, more specific pressure around a smaller number of areas. Manual lymphatic drainage uses very light, rhythmic contact, so intensity is not the measure of the experience.

The session can feel quiet and subtle. Danielle explains the intended approach and checks comfort as the work unfolds.

Manual lymphatic drainage

Light and rhythmic

  • Very gentle contact
  • A focused 60-minute session
  • A calm, consistent pace
Deep tissue bodywork

Slow and specific

  • Adjustable, potentially firm pressure
  • Attention around priority areas
  • A different pace and purpose

Choose based on experience, not intensity

Select lymphatic work when you specifically want light rhythmic contact. Choose Therapeutic or Deep Tissue Massage when you want pressure-based work and more flexibility in technique.
